Rocksbox Unboxing/Review

So today I had received my first ever Rocksbox in the mail. What is Rocksbox you may ask? well it's a monthly subscription service dedicated specifically to jewelry. You first take a quick simple survey so their stylists can get an idea of what exactly your taste is and then send you a 3-piece box of jewelry averaging around $200 to wear on loan. You of course are able to purchase any of the jewelry from the box and anything you don't plan on keeping simply pack back up and ship back to them. The entire box is yours to keep and wear for as long as you want (with the monthly subscription fee of course) or you can just send them all right back and a new group will be on its way to you shortly.  Below you will see my unboxing experience via pictures and a review shortly after with my first experience!

So as for my first Rocksbox I am pleasantly surprised. I, however, wish that I would have waited till after I had gotten this first box before making my wishlist on their site.

All my pieces here are from the wishlist I had created and therefore inhibit my ability to truly review their stylists abilities to judge based on my interests. Otherwise, I really like these minimalistic and geometric jewelry pieces. I've always had an affinity for the look and am pleased they picked them to send. The necklace is a bit short for my neck and helps me judge just what exactly the lengths are of them since the site is lacking that information.

The site itself has a great variety of pieces from statement jewelry to even simpler pieces. You are also able to choose the type of metal you prefer if you're not so open minded to different kinds.

I'd like it to be known that this is not a sponsored post (though I wish it was). So unfortunately I cannot offer you a discount code. The services are $19 a month but for the $10 you get to spend on jewelry each month and an unlimited amount of swapping within each month I find it to be a pretty good deal, especially if you're strapped for time like I am.

Silk & Salt

Hello Lovelies!

Last month the fashion blogger community site Silk & Salt reached out to me about their new and young start-up. Silk & Salt is a unique blogger platform specifically designed for bloggers and blog readers. Much like bloglovin' they make it easier for you to follow your favorite blogs and read them all in one convenient location. What is so great about Silk & Salt? well they bring a minimalistic and fashionable designed platform that includes numerous features such as an international audience base, blog statistics and much more.

Silk and Salt originated in Germany, and because of such some of the features aren't entirely translated into English when it comes to reading. They provide some really awesome features which allows you to republish your blog posts every four hours. It informs you of how many people your blog has reached how many likes and how many followers you have in a convenient sidebar.

Besides the super easy interface and convenience when you sign up they give you suggestions of blogs you may like based on your own interests! they aim to connect readers with blogs they enjoy and have yet to discover. Not to mention they have an awesome team who truly aim to help you and make you have an excellent experience.

Click Here if you wanna go give the site a quick check and see how the site works.

As well as click Here to see a short video they provided me to get some impressions of this site.

This is an entirely unsponsored post. I still use my Bloglovin' platform which I've had since the start, but incase you are looking for something different or are curious about other blogger community platforms like me head on over and check it out.

Best,

Jessica xx

Hunt for your Life

Today one of my dearest friends hit her 25 year mark, her daughter, is also going to be turning 5 this year. It's crazy to think that its been two years since I've seen them last, let alone 12 years since we've lived in the same state. As we talked briefly today I began to reflect on where are lives have led us, how we've gone in such different directions but always with the same motivation, that need to better and change our lives.  It’s a reminder for me to start “hunting” for what I really need. A lot of this past month has been all about adjusting and going after what’s next.

I recently began an ever long pursuit for a job in the costume design field in LA and this blog has also continued to grow. I’ve fallen in love with new things and I feel like I’m always on the “hunt” for things that might make my life better. Although, sometimes I notice that what I really need to is minimize.

This weekend, I got to really spend time with my friend and really talk, she told me about her plans of moving and downsizing her life from all the additives, all the extra stuff and solely focusing on her daughter. I felt like I was telling her the complete opposite with my future plans. It’s funny how when you’re 25, like me, you begin to think about settling down, buying a house, getting a new car and owning all of this “stuff.” Some of us hunt after this in our mid-20s and it’s normal. Everyday we grow, we are focusing on either our careers, our personal life or our health. It’s a constant hunt on really finding what we want in life.

So, as everyone goes and “hunts” after their Easter eggs today. I’ll be sitting here pretending each egg is a symbol of a value we need in life. How many eggs will you be hunting for?

Happy easter,
Jessica
